Franz Ferdinand-April 7th, 2010

Well...I really suck at reviews hahah...

I've been a Franz Ferdinand fan since I first heard The Dark of The Matinee back in 2004. I remember exactly where I was...in my living room, switching channels on tv...until I hit MTV and they were playin that video...I immediately fell in love with the band...they were so British!
My now ex boyfriend bought me every single album on my birthdays... so 6 years waiting for them to come play to my hometown was really something...
Their first two albums are my faves! Their latest album, Tonight,,,it toook me a while to really like it....but I love it too.
Anyways, I found out about their visit last january...the pre sale for the gig began on February 3rd..I bought 2 tix, one for me and one for whoever wanted to join in...this time was my friend Cesar, again.
I dont like getting on GA, so I got on numbered seats..not so far from the stage.
Anyway, on Monday April 5th, a friend found out when they'd be arriving at the airport...and since it was after my work shift, I asked if I could join her to go meet them and she said yes. Their flight arrived at 8:59pm, proceeding from Atlanta, GA...There wasnt a huge crowd waiting for them really...in total we were around like 10 people.
Bob Hardy was the first one to approach us, he was really nice and he assured us that everyone was going to get their signature and picture taken...so we were relaxed and enjoyed his company. Then, Alex Kapranos came out...he immediately approached us and smiled, he thanked us all for had dropped by and greet them...he was so friendly and lovely...his voice is so sexy...I cant explain it, really Razz I had brought with me my cd booklet from the first album for them to sign...when Alex was about to sign mine I thanked him sfor had come to my home town, and he replied "Sure, no problem...Where gonna have fun, yeah?" and I said " We will!!" and then he said: " I think so, too..." After that everybody wanted to have their picture taken with him...in the meantime, Paul Thompson had his son on his arms while his wife was pushing the baby carriage with their olderst kid...so since he was with his family he like totally ignore us...hehehe...but I think it's understandable...
The last one to come out was Nick McCarthy...I love him! He's such a sweetheart, he's always smiling and being nice..so when I saw him we almost bump into each other and I went like : "Oh hi Nick!" and he said hi back and started to sign whatever you gave him. I was dying to have my picture taken with him...after he signed my booklet I say thanks and he said " No problem" so sweet. After I had my picture taken with him, I thanked him about coming to my hometown and then he went like: "No problem...it's an industrial city, right?" and I said: "Yes it is" and he replied: " Oh just like Glasgow!!!" He's so sweet...I fell in love with him...I was like...Oh crap! he's talking to ME!
My friend Ana gave Alex a box with brownies...I got it on video...

And that was pretty much it at the airport...
The next day was the gig....They really, really roooock! omg!
The were some audio difficulties, but besides that the gig was awesome.
I sang out loud every freaking song!..The arena exploded when they performed

So the concert was great...amazing night.
The next morning, another friend told me they were going to leave their hotel at 1pm..so she asked me to go join her...I didnt have my camera with me...but she did...so we went t the hotel and saw them again before they take off.
Again, Bob was the first one to come out and greeted us all...we were around 5 fans this time. Since I wasnt prepared, I asked him to signed my iPod, and another picture taken...when we were all with Bob, Paul came out again with his family...this time he did smiled and waved...but didnt approached us and walked straight to the vans.
When Nick came out...my heart stopped once again...hhehe..when I approached him I asked him if I could give him a hug..and he said yes and spread his arms for me..when I was close to his face I KISSED HIM ON THE CHEEK and he went like "Aww" while hugging me hahahah...so then I asked him to signed my iPod, while he did it I told him I've seen him at the airport too...and ofc he didnt remember, but I loved the way he said: " Oh you were there too? yeay!
Very Happy " Soo cute. Then we pose for a picture and hugged again for it...and his hand was on my back then after the pic he rubbed my back and slide it down as I walked away...andhe sort of touch my bum! hahahah... so I'm too excited about it hahahah
then he took off...som guy told us, Alex was inside with some other fans, so we decided to go into the hotel and there he was, so cool as always...so we had yet anotehr picture taken. He was so NICE!
I told him to PLEASE come back soon, and he said.... "..we certainly will"

And that was it! 3 great Franz Ferdinand days for me...This was my first time doing this kind of stuff for a band...and may I say I'm so proud of myself hahah...I didnt freak out as I thought I'd do ...plus they were REALLY cool towards the fans.

Cant wait to see them again!

Here's a slide show of pretty much all the pics I took....
